The Harris Arts Center, formerly the Rooker Hotel in downtown Calhoun, where SEBA’s 7th Chapter meets and jams from 2 to 5 pm every 2nd Sunday monthly beginning 2/08/09

SEBA Board of Directors approve expansion with 7th new chapter in Calhoun, Ga. SEBA President Kevin O’Connell announces that SEBA Calhoun will begin meeting every second Sunday of the month from 2 to 5 pm starting February 8, 2009, at the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun, Ga.

Steve Dyrda and Ken Hamilton will share the Vice President duties. “Pickers from Dalton, Sugar Valley, Chatsworth, Fairmount, Rome, Kingston & Adairsville and all other surrounding communities as well as any others who can make it to Calhoun are invited.” Dyrda said.

A state-of-the-art facility, the Harris Arts Center, formerly the Rooker Hotel in downtown Calhoun recently underwent a complete remodeling. Now visitors will find a visual art gallery, art studio, music classrooms, meeting facilities, a spacious catering kitchen, the Roland Hayes Museum, and the 220-seat Ratner Theater. An Ideal space for SEBA style jamming.

Center Director Ricardo Morris envisions SEBA and the Harris Arts Center partnering to make bluegrass music a focal point to build community and attract visitors to the Arts Center. Plans are in the works for an annual event involving SEBA bands. The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce has express pleasure and excitement concerning SEBA’s new presence in their community, according to Dyrda.

SEBA member band the Lovell Sisters will appear in concert at the Harris Arts Center on January 24, 2009, where Dyrda and Hamilton will formally announce and invite all in attendance to the SEBA Calhoun Chapter opening on Sunday February 8, 2009 with Jamming from 2 to 5 pm.
