Founded spring of 1991 by Twenty music lovers – they loved to play their musical instruments and loved to sing – Hollonville Opry House carries on their mission to promote and preserve Bluegrass, Bluegrass Gospel, Country, Country Gospel, and Southern Gospel Music now in their 18th year.
Hard working folks using yard sales, fish fries, and collecting loads of donations transformed Lanier and Erle Johnson’s old seed barn on Highway 362 into an auditorium seating 250 people with a stage, creating a premier music venue from a remodeled agricultural structure.
Since opening night July 20, 1991 each and every Saturday with rare exception, the Hollonville Opry has been the place, for bands from across Georgia and the southeast to perform. Shows start at 6:30 pm there’s no admission charge donations are accepted.
