Sonny Perdue Proclaims Silver Anniversary Bluegrass Month

Honoring a long standing tradition dating back to 1985 Governor Sonny Perdue proclaimed May Bluegrass Month in Georgia on May 6, 2009 while an Eleven Alive camera recorded the event for their 6 PM news broadcast.

SEBA Membership Chair, Tony Salazar presented Governor Perdue with an honorary Silver Anniversary pin. SEBA member Dickson Lester, a high school class mate of Perdue, along with SEBA Board members Cindy Musselwhite, Preston Thompson, Julie Sanders, BoD Chair Jim Coleman, and President Kevin O’Connell witnessed this historical proclamation. Other SEBA members Tony Duck, Terry Butterworth, Bonnie Johnson, and Radio personality J.R. Langwell joined in the ceremonies and sang two of the Governor favorite bluegrass numbers, “Y’all Come” and “A Man of Constant Sorrow” led by Charlie Robinson.
