SEBA member and good friend Nick Pender of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Sunday, August 8 after a long
battle with cancer. Nick, along with his wife, Glenda, was very involved in the bluegrass music scene
in north Georgia and worked tirelessly to promote the music. Nick played bass and was always ready
for a jam. He touched the hearts of many of us and he will be sorely missed.

There will be a Memorial Celebration of Nick’s life Wednesday, August 11th at Dahlonega United Methodist
Church at 11:00 a.m. After the service there will be a covered dish meal in the Fellowship Hall at
the church and all musicians are invited to bring your instruments and jam in Nick’s honor – there’s
nothing he liked better.

The church is located at 107 S. Park St. From Hwy 400 North, turn left on Hwy. 60 toward the Dahlonega
square. Just before the square, turn right on Maple and go one block to the church. (706-864-2521)
