COMMENDATION, Combat Action, 2 bronze stars & other medals) served in the US NAVY 6 yrs. Graduated from Valdosta University 1970, with Masters Degree work from
San Diego State University. He loves to help make folks smile and laugh THRU quality music.

~**RON LEVINE : MANDOLIN- GUITAR + VOCALS-
Ron has that rare raspy Chicago BLUEGRASS voice that you will definitely love hearing, he adds great Mandolin choppin' licks, vocals, guitar and brings joy to the audiences with his CHICAGO personality". Always ready to play Bluegrass or Jam with others. Ron has been in the Bluegrass arena for many years playing for some great venues.

~**RONNIE FUTRAL: BANJO+ VOCALS -
Ronnie is our newest Member and a fantastic 'Banjir' pluckier & always full of life. Ronnie is a Vietnam ARMY Veteran. He is a regular of the Bluegrass scene throughout the southeast and anywhere he travels. He has played literally 100's of times in various venues over the years. He is FUNNY, HYSTERICAL, a "HAPPY~GO~LUCKY GUY" and brings joy to the audiences with his extraordinaire BANJO PICKIN'. Come out and see him, you never know what your gonna get with Ronnie's joyful spirit.

~**STEELMAN BORDEN: BASS - GUITAR- VOCALS

Steelman has been a music enthusiast all of his life. He is a well rounded musician playing his awesome UPRIGHT BASS, GUITAR and SINGS. He regularly plays for different venues, Shooterist competitions, Churches, retired citizens and veterans organizations. We are proud to have him playing great BASS for the BLUEGRASS of the Mars Hill Porch Pickers. He is also a world renowned shooterist in quick draw western style shooting competitions. His cheerful disposition and instantaneous humor brings laughter and smiles to the audiences.

ABOUT THE 2023 BAND's BEGINNINGS:

"The Mars Hill Porch Pickers" Bluegrass Band was FOUNDED by Painter
Dickson Lester in the Fall of 1992 as an outreach to youth in the community of the
Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, Acworth.

The band members have changed & continued to use the group to play for retirement homes & other special events in Cobb County, GA, FL & TN VENUES including SEBA'S ANNUAL FESTIVALS, the BEAR ON THE SQUARE (Dahlonega) , ANNUAL Blairsville FESTIVALS, Acworth, Kennesaw, Dallas, Cartersville & many other locations.
They have since put on or played in concerts in KENNESAW Historic Little General Civil War Train Museum, NEWBORN OLD SCHOOL HOUSE BLUEGRASS, Dahlonega Bluegrass, Cartersville, Powders Springs, Stone Mountain town and Parks, Sloppy Floyd Georgia State Park, TUCKER FOUNTAIN Tucker Ga, Greater Good BBQ House TUCKER GA, Blue Ridge& The Blue Ridge Rail road, Smoke on the Lake Festival, FLORIDA'S Suwanee Festival, Raccoon Creek, Acworth Opry, KENNESAW OPRY, WINNWOOD Retirement Homes. Blairsville Court house Friday Nite Concert series, Everett's Music Barn, Heritage at Brookstone, Pop's in Summerville, Poole's BBQ house in- Ellijay, The Presbyterian Village, Crabapple Festival in Crabapple Ga, and many others. They were filmed for a TV show "The Best Of America By Horse Back- in Lyons, Ga. that was aired on RFD TV on August 8, 2005. Also, Ridge TV Blairsville

They have also helped with countless FUNDRAISERS for Churches, the KENYA CONNECTION MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL, "HERB EMORY'S TOYS FOR TOTS", Panorama Apple festival & HILLCREST FAMILY ORCHARDS.
