RON LEVINE : MANDOLIN- GUITAR + VOCALS-

Ron has that rare raspy Chicago BLUEGRASS voice that you will definitely love & enjoy hearing, he adds great Mandolin choppin' licks, vocals and brings joy to the audiences with his bouncy bubbly personality. Always happy go lucky and ready to play Bluegrass or Jam with others.

JIMBO WRIGHT: BANJO-GUITAR-BASS + VOCALS -

Jimbo is a fantastic Banjo plucker always full of life. He is a regular of the Bluegrass scene throughout the southeast and anywhere he travels. He has played literally 100's of times in various bands over the years. He is FUNNY, HYSTERICAL, HAPPY GO LUCKY and brings joy to the audiences with his extraordinaire BANJO PICKIN' and hilarious on stage antics. Come out and see him, you never know what your gonna get with JIMBO's skits.

"ABNORMAL" TRITTON- BASS AND BODY GUARD-

"ABNORMAL" has been a music enthusiast all of his life. He is a retired Army Serviceman who served his country in the prestigious ARMY Band for 28 yrs playing over 7 brass instruments as well as several bass instruments including his 3/4 size upright bass. He played music for weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries special occasions. He regularly plays for retired citizens and veterans organizations. We are proud to have him serving the Mars Hill Porch Pickers.

ABOUT THE 2012 BAND:

"The Mars Hill Porch Pickers" Bluegrass Band was FOUNDED & started by Painter Dickson Lester in the Fall of 1992 as an outreach to youth in the community of the Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, Acworth. After the Youth went off to college Dickson founded the band & continued to use the group to play for retirement homes and many other special events in the community around Cobb County, VARIOUS GEORGIA, FLORIDA & KANSAS VENUES including SEBA'S ANNUAL BLUEGRASS FESTIVALS, the BEAR ON THE SQUARE (Dahlonega) Bluegrass festivals, SEBA ANNUAL Blairsville FESTIVALS, Acworth, Kennesaw, Dallas, Cartersville and many other locations. They have since put on or played in concerts in Powders Springs, Stone Mountain town and Parks, Sloppy Floyd Georgia State Park, Blue Ridge,The Blue Ridge Rail road, Brookville family Opry-Tenn, Smoke on the Lake Festival, FLORIDA'S Suwanee Festival, Raccoon Creek, Acworth Opry, KENNESAW OPRY, Everett's Music Barn, Heritage at Brookstone, Pop's in Summerville, Poole's BBQ house in- Elijay, The Presbyterian Village and many others. They were filmed for a TV show "The Best Of America By Horse Back- in Lyons, Ga. that was aired on RFD TV on August 8, 2005.
They have also helped with countles FUNDRAISERS for the KENYA CONNECTION MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL, LIVING HOPE MINISTRIES, PRECIOUS PEARLS MINISTRIES, "HERB EMORY'S TOYS FOR TOTS" annual Fundraiser with the Marines at the FAMILY BBQ HOUSE on HWY 278 next door to the Harley Davidson Dealership and many others.

They have appeared numerous times on WRFG 89.3 FM RADIO PROGRAM
-"SPAM AND GRITS" Bluegrass Music with the "OLD FOLKIE' himself MARC MILLER. He delights in their music.

Also, on the WRFG 89.3 "JR Bluegrass RADIO PROGRAM"-Who LOVES their Bluegrassy sounds.

The Band Members have changed over the years but Dickson has continued to pull great musicians together with the ultimate goal to play FUN music that combines JOY and LAUGHTER and makes folks wanna smile, tap their TOES & feet, sing along and be pleasing to the ears of the audience.

The former 2005 Porch Pickers also played in a live 2 hour Christmas concert for our Troops in Fort Riley, Kansas. The concert was filmed live and aired December 23 and 25, '05 in 120 countries on the RFD television broadcast station.
