Our 1st Silver Anniversary Member Jim MIller of
Bluegrass Sound
SEBA proudly announces our first Silver Anniversary
Member: Jim Miller of Marietta, Georgia. Member since 2002 and founder of
SEBA Member Band Bluegrass Sound.
Miller started his musical adventure at a flea market stall he worked with
his wife Sue. Another vendor heard him "tooting that harmonica" and invited
him to a jam. Eventually Miller bought and learned to play bass and formed
a band to perform at the Acworth Opry.
"I liked being on stage, I guess I’m a ham." Miller said. The only
remaining original member, Miller manages Bluegrass Sound, "We’ve played
60 gigs in the last two years and traveled up to 400 miles to perform."
In 2004 Miller took over the Acworth Opry from its originators, the
Pinons, and ran it thru 2007 in an old barn at a horse park in Acworth. In
April 2006 Acworth Opry, won Atlanta Country Music.com’s award for Top
Bluegrass Venue.
"Too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer" Miller said so he moved
out of the barn, first to Theater On Main in Acworth and then to Adams Park
Community Center where it is now the Kennesaw Opry and another SEBA member,
Bob Twyman, puts on a show monthly every 2nd Friday night at 8 pm.
"I had never played with anyone before Bluegrass Music," Miller said. "It
made me feel really good. I’m glad I joined SEBA and will continue my
membership, some of the best people I‘ve met are SEBA members."

Testimonial" in the SEBA Forums.
Bluegrass Sound has performed twice at SEBA Fayetteville and twice at our
